We don’t just sell these products, we use them ourselves! Here are a few insider tips we've picked up along the way.
Remember to leave room for the acrylic sheet to expand and contract (width and length). As a rule of thumb, the sheets can expand up to 5mm per lineal metre. So for a 4 metre sheet, leave 20mm lengthways.
Acrylic can be curved (cold bent) to a radius of 320 times the thickness of the material. E.g. 6mm can be curved to a radius of 1.92m.
Crystalite 6mm acrylic sheets can be easily cut to size on-site. For the cleanest and fastest results, use a circular saw (skill saw) fitted with a fine-toothed blade—ideally a dedicated plastic-cutting or high-tooth-count aluminium blade - moving at a steady, moderate pace to avoid melting or chipping the acrylic. For smaller cuts, a fine-toothed hand saw works well too. Always leave the protective masking film on during cutting to prevent surface scratches.
You can also use sandpaper along the cut edge to remove any burrs and leave a clean, smooth finish.
